Abstract: Continuing Maltese is a lower intermediate to intermediate eve course that presupposes a basic knowledge of the language. It is a follow-up to the first level self-study course Beginning Maltese. The key components of Continuing Maltese are the textbook with ten lessons, and the recorded material on the accompanying two compact discs. The textbook and CDs are to be used in parallel. Each lesson is split into two: Section A comprises the analytical part of the lesson where grammatical and phonological rules are given. Section B is the experiential part that includes dialogues based on everyday situations such as greetings and introductions, asking for directions, taking the bus or taxi, shopping, and phoning a government department.
