Abstract: This study consists of an overview of Administrative Policies and Work Procedures at the Pitkali Markets in Ta' Qali. This presentation (with the inclusion of some analysis and recommendations), is intended to carry out an evaluation of the present legal and administrative system linked to the Pitkali Markets. This project gives also an idea of how much work is required in the process till locally produced fruits and vegetables will finally reach the end users. It is also important to mention that this course of action would not be possible if it were not for the involvement of the stakeholders and several dedicated individuals. Like most other governmental entities, the Pitkali Market's main objective is not to be profitable, but to organise and coordinate the crop business and the farmers' payments. Business at the Pitkalija depends mostly on farmers, middlemen and hawkers, whom together with the central government arc the main stakeholders of this vital organisation.
