The extent of curricular improvements achieved by 'Birżebbuġa Primary A' through an ICT focus since the introduction of financial delegation

Abstract

This dissertation will give an overview of the historical international trends that have led to delegated financial management to schools. The historical moves in the local scene since 1993 when the first steps towards financial delegation were initiated. Reference to international literature on delegated financial management including references to case studies will be made. The focus will be on the trends towards financial delegation, devolution especially on curricular outcomes (ICT) resulting from local management of schools. We will also include the research methodology, especially for triangulation purposes, by case study mode, participant observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. While the purpose for use of the named research tools are enunciated, an account Is to be given on discarding other methods. Reference to research literature are made throughout. The dissertation will delve on the findings from the research that has been conducted and comparisons and references are made to the research literature. The conclusion winds up with suggestions for maintenance of positive outcomes and remediation strategies for improvement and elimination of negative factors.
