| Abstract: | Beginning Maltese is a user friendly, self teaching course that will give you a basic knowledge of Maltese and will enable you to understand and speak the language. This course comprises a textbook with twelve lessons and two audio cassettes with recorded material in Maltese. The lessons are structured in a way as to prevent you from groaning under the weight of too many grammatical rules, though some general rules regarding word formation and verb conjugation are given. Even then, these tiles are explained in a simple manner and you should not find them at all daunting. In addition, each lesson contains the most frequently used words and expressions in Maltese and there are a number of exercises with answers to help you revise the lesson. |
