| Abstract: | Dairy cow farming makes up a significant part of the Maltese agricultural activity. In Malta there are around 145 persons involved in full-time dairy cow farming. The 130 farms or holdings 1 where these dairy cows are raised are mainly concentrated in four regions: Gozo, Zejtun, Magħtab and Rabat. Figure 1 shows the geographical distribution of the main dairy farms in the Maltese Islands while Figure 2 shows the distribution of the dairy herd in terms of localities. [...] |
