| Abstract: | The introduction of low-cost flights to and from the Maltese islands has led to a new era within the tourism industry in Malta. The analysis made during this research has outlined an enormous impact that low-cost carriers have had on the tourism perspective. In 2006, a huge step was taken by the Maltese government to introduce low-cost carriers. This resulted in a big impact on the tourism sector which is generally very positive. It led to a drastic improvement in Malta as it is now viewed as being a desired destination. The country is also connected with other countries in Europe more than ever. |
