Book presentation and University Lifelong Learning Chat with Rector

Last Tuesday, 7 July, Prof. Peter Mayo presented a hardback copy of his latest single authored book, ' Southern' Europe and beyond in the Mediterranean.  Critical Essays on Adult Learning and Education', to the newly installed University of Malta Rector,  Prof. Frank Bezzina.

The presentation allowed for a brief discussion around prospects for Lifelong Learning and the University of Malta.

This is a 2026 book which, among other things, deals with comparative and international education in Italy, Palestine, Portugal, and Spain, and throughout 'Southern' Europe and many parts of the Mediterranean. It contains two chapters entirely focused on Palestine.

It is Prof. Mayo's 28th out of 29 books to date, the last being an edited festschrift in honour of faculty colleague and leading sociologist, Prof. Mary Darmanin.
