Event: The Heart - a Biblical Perspective
Date: Friday 20 March until Sunday 22 March 2026
Time: Friday 20 March 18:00 - Sunday 22 March 2026 14:00
Venue: Mount St Joseph Retreat House, Mosta
In the Bible, the heart is presented as playing a pivotal role in the life of human beings. This role is not so much physiological as psychological and spiritual; indeed, in the Bible the heart turns out to be the seat of understanding, of the will, and of discernment. It is in the heart that wilful evil or good is planned.
The Psalmist asks God to create a clean heart in him, whereas Jesus tells us that it is the “pure of heart” who will see God. Nothing created is bad: evil springs from the heart. In this seminar, various biblical passages illustrating the foregoing points will be examined. There will also be time for personal reflection and prayer.
This retreat is being led by Prof. Anthony J. Frendo.
Fee: €100 for a single room, €95 per person in a shared room
