The Google Developer's Group Malta and the Malta Communications Authority in collaboration with the Faculty of ICT within the University of Malta and Saint Martin's Institute of Higher Education will be organising a Hackathon. The focus for this hackathon is on the use and exploitation of Open Data. The idea behind Open Data is that Public Sector Information (PSI), or in other words public data and information, should be freely available to everyone to use and republish as they wish, without restrictions from copyright, patents or other mechanisms of control.
Hackathon 2016 will take place on Friday 28 October 2016 and end on Sunday 30 October.
Students, IT companies and businesses in general, will have the opportunity to use Open Data datasets and develop new mobile and web applications.
Places are limited to 40, to secure your place please register online.
