The University of Malta Library is celebrating International Open Access Week again!
This year’s theme—Open in Action—encourages all stakeholders to take steps to make their work more openly available and inspire others to do the same.
The University of Malta Library is organising a discussion regarding the benefits of publishing in Open Access to encourage local academics to become more proactive towards Open Access.
The discussion will take place on Tuesday 25 October at 10:00 at the IT Services building in TR003. The session will be delivered by Prof. Milena Dobreva from the Department of Library and Information Sciences at the University of Malta and Mr Martin Lochman, a library assistant at the University Library, who focused his studies on Open Access.
Alternatively, for anyone who is interested in uploading their research on OAR@UoM—the University of Malta's institutional repository in Open Access—the Library is organising a training session on Thursday 27 October at 10:00 at the IT Services building in TR003. This session will focus on showing participants how to upload items on OAR@UoM in their respective collections.
The event is open to University of Malta academic members of staff. To book a place, send an email to reservations.lib@um.edu.mt or call on +356 2430 2541 specifying, the session you would like to attend.
