Award-winning publication presented to Rector

On Tuesday 18 November 2025, Prof. Mary Darmanin, author of the award-winning publication ‘So We Can Do Our Best': Care in children’s relationships with teachers, presented a copy of the book to University of Malta Rector, Prof. Alfred J. Vella.

The publication recently received the National Book Prize in the Research Category.

Copies were also donated to the University Library.

Malta University Press, represented by Prof. Ġorġ Mallia and Ms Krista Bonnici, were also present on this occasion, as were Ms Josianne Camilleri Vella, Deputy Director of the Library, and Prof. Valerie Sollars, Pro-Rector for Strategic Planning & Sustainability.

“Each publication donated becomes a legacy of knowledge enriching future generations with knowledge, curiosity and inspiration”, said Prof. Vella.

The same publication was launched just about a year ago as an insightful recollection of children’s voices and an extensive research on student-teacher relationships.
