FameLab Malta is on once again!
FameLab, is an International Science Communication competition that gives an opportunity to science enthusiasts to share their knowledge and engage the public in the most effective ways. In simply 3 minutes, each participant presents a concept on any topic of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. They will be judged by a professional panel of judges made up of local researchers, media personalities, and journalists on content, clarity and also charisma. The participants will need to audition for the competition and the chosen candidates (semi-finalists) will attend a 2-day Masterclass, where a professional science communicator from the UK will give them training in science communication and public engagement. The winner will be chosen in the national final, and s/he will represent Malta in FameLab international in which over 25 countries participate in the final competition which is held in Cheltenham, UK, during the Cheltenham Science festival in June.
Last year's winner was Dr Anthony Galea, a lecturer from the Department of Geosciences at the University of Malta’s Faculty of Science. View his performance at the International Finals at Cheltenham Science Festival, UK.
