STEAM Professional Development Opportunity for Faculty of Education staff
The Learning STEAM Through Performing Arts project (Erasmus+) led by Prof. Edward Duca at the Faculty of Education is opening one spot for a professional development opportunity to researchers at the Faculty of Education!
About the L-STEAM Summer School
The L-STEAM Summer School 2026 will take place in Monsaraz, Portugal from 12 to 17 July 2026. This international programme seeks to familiarise educators and professionals with practical and innovative approaches to designing and implementing STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities using performing arts. The Summer School will provide hands-on training, collaborative learning experiences, and exposure to research-informed methodologies that empower educators to strengthen their professional practice in STEAM education.
Certificate & implementation
All participants will receive an official Certificate of Participation that may be used for professional development recognition in their respective institutions or national teacher training systems.
Participants’ feedback will be requested after the course ends, including information on how they plan to implement the learned STEAM practices into their own work experiences. Participants will then implement a STEAM education activity using performing arts with collaborating classrooms/schools with the support of local professionals, and they will take part in the evaluation process of the project.
Funding option
Funded by the Erasmus+ programme, the University of Malta is able to fund (accommodation, flights and course fees) the participation of one professional at the Faculty of Education, which will be selected based on their application.
