Tree Planting Memorial in honour of the late Mr Louis Borg and Dr Michael Aquilina, both former Directors of the Institute for Physical Education and Sport

Following the launch of the Tree Planting Memorial in honour of the late Mr Louis Borg and Dr Michael Aquilina, both former Directors of the Institute for Physical Education and Sport, a commemorative event was held on Monday 1 December 2025, at 10:00.

The event was a heartfelt occasion which was attended by several relatives of both past directors, as well as the Institute’s full-time and part-time staff. Throughout this occasion several colleagues shared personal anecdotes and fond memories of Mr Borg and Dr Aquilina, reflecting on their significant contributions and lasting impact on the advancement of Physical Education and Sport as well as the growth of IPES and its community.
