A few months back, Newspoint had revealed that a team of student-athletes from UM were getting ready for the FISU World University Games, which were since held in Germany.
The team not only had a blast together representing Malta, but they also managed to excel and make us all proud.
Newspoint got in touch with Matthew Galea Soler, one of the student-athletes on the Malta team.
Matthew spectacularly set a new national record in the men’s 400m running category, and then broke the record he himself had set – a great result that got him all the way to the semi-finals.
This was the first time in 10 years that Malta was represented at the games, and it was the first time that the Malta University Sport Association - MUSA, organised its participation.
