KSU Freshers’ Week 2026: here’s what’s in store 🌟

New academic year, new chapter, new people - a whole lot to look forward to.

This KSU Freshers’ Week, to be held from Monday 5 until Friday 9 October 2026, is a chance for first-year UM students to delve straight into student life, explore the new campus, settle in and make their mark, with the support of the rest of the UM community.

So what is in store? Let us get into it.

(1) A memorable Opening Ceremony to take place at Sir Temi Zammit Hall; and an opportunity for students to be welcomed into the UM community.

(2) The Official Opening of Freshers’ Week by University of Malta Rector, Prof. Frank Bezzina, following the Opening Ceremony.

(3) A Campus Full of Possibilities: Campus transforms into a sea of stands from companies and student organisations, all right at one’s fingertips - students just need to figure out what sparks their interest.

(4) Step up to the buzzing UM stand for prizes, guidance and more - We will be at Gateway, so you can’t miss us. And this year, we are going bigger than ever, with more and bigger prizes, plus brand-new UM merch items up for grabs. Whether students are looking for useful info, want to pick up some fresh UM gear or simply want to test their luck, they just need to swing by! Make sure to follow our official UM Facebook and Instagram accounts to keep up with our competitions and your chance to win!

(5) An Information Meeting: Whatever the subjects chosen, students will have the chance to get the essential information they need to start their university journey with confidence.

(6) Meet the Deans & Directors and get the lowdown on what to expect from one’s academic journey.

(7) A revised student handbook, to get students acquainted with key services to the resources available to help them make the most of their time at UM.

(8) It would be useful to get to know student representatives, find out what KSU has in store for the year and discover how one can get involved and have your voice heard.

(9) Mark this milestone at Campus Fest 2026, Freshers’ Rave 2026 and a packed line-up of events designed to help students socialise, meet new people and kick off the university journey in style.

(10) Network and make new connections: From course mates to student organisations and fellow freshers, Freshers’ Week is the ultimate chance for students to meet new people and make connections.

Think of Freshers’ Week 2026 as the first proper taste of university life; so get involved and explore what’s on offer.
