Where curiosity sparks innovation: another successful KurżitàJiem at Esplora, featuring the participation of UM

As another year starts, so does another chock-full calendar of STEAM events at Esplora, with KurżitàJiem being one of the first nationwide events organised with the aim of sparking curiosity in the minds of the younger generations.

The University of Malta once again participated in this week-long event, and collaborated with Esplora to bring subjects such as mathematics, astronomy, geosciences, physics, health sciences, information policy and governance and pathology closer to the students, in a creative way.

The Science in the City team, the Faculty of Engineering and the Institute of Aerospace Technologies were all present.

Visiting the Science Centre offered an unforgettable experience for anyone curious about the wonders of science. Guests met the experts themselves: scientists and researchers who shared insights about their exciting, and sometimes unconventional, careers.

They got hands-on with engaging experiments guided by industry professionals and witnessed the thrill of discovery first-hand. Visitors stepped into the planetarium and were transported by breath-taking films exploring the mysteries of the universe, or spent hours exploring over 200 interactive exhibits that made learning fun and immersive.

Whilst the event was open to school pupils between 26 and 30 January, it was also accessible to the general public between 31 January and 1 February.

It was a perfect opportunity for students exploring subjects and career paths, curious families, and science enthusiasts of all ages, providing an inspiring, educational, and entertaining adventure for everyone.
