Before cinema, radio, or television came the era of grand theatre performances, elegant balls, and lively evenings filled with music and dance centred around the pianoforte — the heart of social life where young ladies and gentlemen performed for family and friends. Through her talk, Anna will reveal how music shaped Maltese society and reflected the cultural influences of the time.
