Abstract:

The last DSP talk of the scholastic year will be an introductory lecture about neural network transformers: how they work, how they are trained, and some different ways they can be used. The lecture will be aimed at students but anyone who is interested is welcome to join.

This is the ninth talk in the 2025/6 Data Science Platform Seminar Series.

Speaker’s Bio:

Dr Marc Tanti is a computational linguistics lecturer with the Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology and an associate of the Department of AI. His research interests are in neural networks and natural language processing, especially for low resource languages and the Maltese language.
