To mark International Women’s Day 2026, the Department of Gender and Sexualities and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany Valletta warmly invite you to a special screening of Elaha (German with English subtitles) on Friday, 6 March 2026, from 17:30 to 20:00, at the Arts Lecture Theatre (ALT), University of Malta.
Elaha (110 minutes) is a compelling and thought-provoking film that explores themes of gender, cultural expectations, sexuality, and self-determination.
The evening will commence at 17:30 with welcome remarks by Dean Dr Sandra Scicluna, Faculty for Social Wellbeing. This will be followed by an Opening Address by Her Excellency Ambassador Beyer and a brief introduction to the film by Prof. JosAnn Cutajar, Head of the Department of Gender and Sexualities.
