About the school

A main goal of the BehAPI network is to facilitate the interactions between academia and industry by equipping API platforms with models, languages, and tools to support API-based software.  In this context, the school will feature theoretical and practical sessions on the following topics centred on the concept of behavioural APIs.

The school offers a nice mix of courses from academia and industry. Many courses will be supported by practical hands-on sessions with state-of-the-art tools and technology. The school will also host a bootcamp where companies will showcase their approaches to API development with hands-on sessions.

Courses, Bootcamp, and Programme

Includes the list of invited speakers, along with a short abstract, summarising the contents of the course. Furthermore, the school will host a one day bootcamp, where companies will showcase their approaches to API development with hands-on sessions. The full programme will soon be available here.

Accommodation

The accommodation for this year’s BehAPI school, as well as the lectures themselves will be held at the College Court conference centre. Thus participants remain may either relax together or indeed work together during the evenings. College Court is situated close to the University of Leicester main campus and the city centre; it provides high quality conference spaces, accommodation and dining facilities with excellent food.

Travel

College court, the venue for the BehAPI school, is accessible by car, train and bus. Here we have listed these methods:

  • (recommended) Taxi to/from airports: The cost of a taxi (up to 4 people) to/from airports may be cheaper than buses or trains; this is definitely true if taxis are shared among 2/3 people. A few taxi companies are listed below with their links. Usually you can book them from their webpages or calling them over the phone. Most of them offer minivan services (for more that 3/4 people) and accept card payments from abroad; all companies provide a receipt.

  • Bus: National express operates in all main airports. The bus stop you need is St. Margaret bus station, which is in the city centre. Outside the bus station there are city taxis (a ride to College Court may be £6 –  £9 depending on the time).
  • Train: Leicester is on the main rail route between London and Edinburgh. Trains may be very expensive if not booked enough time in advance. City taxis are available outside the train station (a ride to College Court may be £5 – £7 depending on the time).

The map below shows the Leicester city centre, with a bus route from the rail station to College Court:
