Rapporti letterari tra Malta e la Sicilia : prospettive veriste nella narrativa maltese

Abstract

The investigation on the cultural continuity between Malta and Sicily is through necessity multi-faceted and can be conducted on various levels. This article tries to outline how Italian literature emanating from Sicily led the Maltese creative spirit to land to new perspectives, or rather to be aware of another interpretation within the fundamental discovery of the historical romance which can essentially be understood as an ethnic, politic, linguistic and cultural self-consciousness.
