Abstract: This research aims to analyse the effect of the Israeli settlements on the two state solution. Various arguments, from both Israelis and Palestinians, will be examined as to why the Israeli settlements hinder the establishment of a Palestinian state. The Israeli government declared that the Israeli settlements do not hinder the establishment of a Palestinian state. However, there are a lot of proof and realities on the ground that contradict this statement. The Israeli settlements are one of the biggest obstacle for the establishment of a Palestinian. The objective of this thesis is to show the complexity of the settlements and how it negatively impacts on Palestinian daily lives.
