| Abstract: | On the 450th anniversary of the Great Siege, Bugeja recounts the bravery of the Maltese who, in conjunction with the efforts of the Knights of the Order of St John, repelled the Ottoman Empire from the islands despite being severely outnumbered. Nowadays, there are myriad monuments which act as relics of this prestigious victory. |
