| Abstract: | The Triton Fountain in Valletta lived through years of negligence prior to being renovated and displayed to the public in all its glamour. During the period in which the statue was succumbing to abandonent, Camilleri states that it was “an eyesore” and it was caught in a whirlwind of political controversy. Once both the statues and water system were fixed, the tally of the total costs was 4 million euro- double the original estimate as a result of its perpetual state of neglect. |
