| Abstract: | To date, four species of Hippoboscid flies have been recorded from the Maltese Islands (Schembri,S.P. 1978- Diptera Hippboscldae parasitising birds from the Maltese islands - Il-Merill 19:5-6). This paper reports on a new species Ornithophila metallica Schiner, taken during recent ringing activities by the Ornithological Society and gives additional host data for two other species. |
