Abstract: | Boasting a rich cultural history, the archaeological relevance of Malta, is a reality that potentially makes the archipelago the stuff of dreams in this information-driven age. Malta is a pristine untouched world, full of possibility, just waiting to be conserved. The retention of this material depends heavily on the existence of a curated, digital repository. A National Digital Heritage Conservation Laboratory does not as yet exist. Hence, this dissertation attempts to propose some foundations towards closing this gap. By establishing guidelines for all record-keeping, records management, and archival-interest practices across the board, and focusing on the present processes in place, further digital and electronic technologies are proposed so as to endorse strong, hybrid, national information practices. |
