Abstract: Fiorini attempts to trace the earliest extant documents that include information about the carnival in Malta and finds that, astray to the belief that the Knights of Malta brought about its inception, the origin of the carnival dates back to the early 1400s. His findings also include the types of food that were popular among the Maltese during the feast's elementary stages.
