| Abstract: | Vassallo recounts the adventurous voyages of Angel de Saavedra around the Mediterranean during his exile from his country of origin- Spain. It was during his stay in Malta (1825-1830) that he met who was to be an important and influential friend of his- John Hookham Frere. de Saavedra, as he wrote in various poems, was moved by the knowledge and intelligence of Frere. |
