Abstract: The arterial switch operation is the procedure of choice for correction of transposition of the great arteries. Although offering excellent long term results, this procedure is burdened by the risk of acute and subacute coronary occlusion. No guide-lines exist for the management of acute or chronic ischemia in this setting. This article briefly reviews the literature and presents the results.
