Abstract: Brincat analyses two writings- an inscription found above what was once a stable in Gudja and a letter written by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1798 regarding the ownership of the Cathedral of St. John. Due to the old nature of the writings, it was necessary for Brincat to conduct a series of investigations in order to unveil the meaning behind certain letters in both Latin and French which are not used in the modern day.
