| Abstract: | Despite the wealth of research about adolescent development and music psychology, a few studies have concentrated solely on how music effects parental relationships. Using a quantitative approach, 310 adolescents (ages 15-25) completed an online questionnaire in which they answered questions based on their music preference and their interaction with their parents. The data was analysed by SPSSĀ® and results indicated that music plays a vital role in the life of the youths and that most of maltese adolescents have good relationships with their parents regardless the genre of music they prefer. |
