Citation: Vella, D. (1981). H.T. and L.T. switchgear in power distribution systems (Higher Diploma long essay).
Abstract: The scope of this work is to give a concise but substantially detailed account of various types of switchgear and distribution systems used in the transmission of power from the high tension transmitting and through to the 415v service end. The work mainly concentrates on a discussion revolving around the general operation of the switch-gear used in medium power transmission systems including an analysis of inherent advantages and disadvantages of each system testing methods and possibilities of practical application. Established conventional systems have been given preference over more revolutionary systems such as developing E.H.V. switch-gear since the limited local facilities do not permit on authentic and frank practical discussion in this field.
