Abstract: This presentation proposes critical realism as a framework for making sense of economic issues. It is a philosophy that assists an understanding of the world that is real but which may be differently interpreted by different observers. Critical realism is proposed as a conceptual lens that assists our understanding of the challenges faced by the present economic world, facilitates our analysis of economic issues, and provides us with insights about pedagogical approaches that enrich business education.
