| Abstract: | Assessment does not stand outside the teaching and learning process but stands in dynamic interaction with it. Lectures in the Faculty of Education at the University of Malta are committed to providing assessment which is fair, valid, reliable, efficient and effective. There is strong move for assessment practices to change from assessment of learning and providing student-teachers with a summative judgement of their work in the form of a mark and grade, towards assessment for learning where the student-teachers are provided with constant support from lectures to help them improve their work and their practice in schools. Such assessment practices in the Faculty of Education can also act as a model for student-teachers who have to develop their own assessment practices when assessing pupils in schools. |
