| Abstract: | It is a challenge to want to show in this short article the Order of St John's stay on the Maltese islands. One can only try to trace the outline of the events that have characterized their sovereignty over the Maltese islands. The Knights were not able neither to integrate the indigenous population, nor to integrate themselves, not even after a relatively long period of 268 years. |
