| Abstract: | This body of work investigates fiction as inspiration for art. The developed methodology aims to structure such potential links for analytical review. The researcher studied the circumstance in question through and in reflection of own practice. Theoretical readings shaped the study’s concerns of phenomenology, artistic subtext, and literary theory. The researcher applied the theoretical context to a practice investigative of the experience of reading fiction – particularly as a visual creative – considering a background of concepts in literary and visual culture around meaning. The contextual review involves ideas approached to expand the researcher’s perspective on the experience art gives – particularly when the goal of the art is to give viewer experience a disjointed quality. |
