The Minister of Justice and Home Affairs has given a first reading to a bill entitled the 'Administrative Justice Bill". This Bill is the natural follow up to a White Paper which was published by the Ministry of justice and Home Affairs in January 2005. Since then consultations thereon must have been carried out with the end result being, inter alia, the publication of the Administrative justice Bill. This paper thus examines the background to the proposed Bill. In particular, it briefly provides an overview of the Bill's clauses, sets out the salient provisions of the Bill, and clarifies the implications of certain provisions therein contained to Administrative Law in general namely the establishment of an Administrative Review Tribunal and appeals from decisions thereof to the Court of Appeal.en_GB
