Contemporary issues in medical ethics & law conference : conference proceedings 2012-2015

Abstract

This volume brings together a number of papers delivered during conferences and seminars on the theme of medical ethics and the law. These events were organised in tandem by the Medicine and Law Programme of the Faculty of Laws and the Bioethics Research Programme of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, both Programmes of the University of Malta. The themes ranged from end of life decisions to confidentiality and treatment of young adults, from ethical issues in disaster situations to research ethics. The publication also includes papers delivered by University of Malta academics at other fora or published elsewhere in the realm of medical ethics and the law. It is intended to serve as a companion to students studying at the University who are researching the subject of this volume, to lawyers and medical practitioners who have an interest in medical ethics and law studies and to academics who wish to further their studies in the complex area of medico-legal studies.
