| Abstract: | L'Africaine (La donna africana) è un'opera francese in cinque atti con musiche di Giacomo Meyerbeer e libretto di Eugène Scribe. Meyerbeer e Scribe iniziarono a lavorare all'opera nel 1837. L'opera è ambientata a Lisbona e su un'isola nell'Oceano Indiano durante il XVI secolo. Racconta una storia d'amore, il tradimento e la politica giocano un ruolo importante in cui l'eroina paga il prezzo più alto. |
