| Abstract: | Faust è un dramma lirico in cinque atti di Charles Gounod su libretto francese di Jules Barbier e Michel Carré dal dramma di Carré "Faust et Marguerite". La prima rappresentazione di quest'opera fu al Théâtre Lyrique sul Boulevard du Temple a Parigi il 19 marzo 1859. La trama: Germania, nel Medioevo. Il dottor Faust è uno studioso anziano che è stanco della vita e fantastica di farla finita. Improvvisamente, Mephistophélès, il diavolo stesso, appare davanti a lui. Stringe un patto con Faust, garantendogli l'eterna giovinezza in cambio della sua anima. |
