| Abstract: | Outlander is a work which consists of five inseparable pieces titled, ‘Surrounded’, ‘Detected Forces’, ‘Away from Both Worlds’, ‘Unbounded’ and ‘Freedom’. To be experienced in the best possible way, the pieces should be listened in this particular order and with susceptible minds to imagine a whole new world in which the listener has landed. The commentary consists of four sections, where after the introduction, one can find the tools used in different phases of composing this work. The third section contains all the information regarding the objectives, compositional processes, and the individual construction of sounds. Overall, a very important point for what is to be experienced is that the score written makes use of both traditional and electronic instruments/sounds. This music is meant to be heard and embraced rather than performed live and accordingly more emphasis was put towards mixing, panning, and editing of the various parameters of sound. |
