| Abstract: | Freedom of information legislation permits the mass media to access government held information. By 'government held information', I do not mean information held only by Cabinet Ministers but also information by the public administration at large, including the public service (that includes the civil service) and the public sector. The latter comprises public corporations, government companies, government foundations and other government entities. |
