This dissertation examines the main science and digital technology used by forensic institutes traditionally, the leap in technology that led forensic science and technology to the present, as well as the prospective future. Data pertaining to the subject was collected through literature review, as well as interviews conducted to several experts from different criminal investigation departments within the Malta Police Force.
