Abstract: IN no department of surgery have more pains been taken, and ingenuity exerted, than in the construction of Trusses for the relief and cure of inguinal hernia ; and yet the very number of these instruments may be taken as the surest evidence that none of them have been yet brought to perfection. The great object to be attained ls the power of keeping the hernia permanently and effectually reduced, at the least possible inconvenience to the individual, and such are the qualities which I claim for the Truss which I have invented, and which I have the honour of submitting to the medical profession and the public generally...
