| Abstract: | The Faculties having professorships in the University are four, to each of
whfoh a Special Council is attached presided over by the Rector, and composed
of the Professors of the relative Faculties, two members not being professors, and
one extra member for the Examinations. The academical degrees of Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, of Doctor of Laws, and of Doctor of Theology, are conferred by the University on the students regularly admitted in those respective Faculties, who have completed an Academical Course of four scholastic years and passed an Examination at the end of each year, partly in writing and partly oral, on the subject-matters as arranged in the curriculum of each Faculty...
