Abstract: Books are vital resources for literacy, learning, and leisure. Shockingly, however, books are in short supply. Serious inequities exist in book availability and accessibility worldwide resulting in millions of people suffering from so-called “book hunger.” In Ending Book Hunger: Access to Print and Across Barriers of Class and Culture, legal scholar Lea Shaver sheds light on the sad phenomenon of book hunger experienced by many underserved and marginalized communities around the world.
