Abstract: Pietro Felici was born in Qormi, the third son of Agostino and Grazia Mallia, who were married at the parish church of St. George on February 28, 1666. The marriage produced five offspring: Generosa on December 20, 1666; Domenico on February 18, 1668; Pietro on December 22, 1669; Antonio on June 14, 1672; and Vitale on September 7, 1673. Pietro was baptized on the same day he was born and named after his paternal grandfather. In 1675, his mother died at the age of 29. Pietro's father remarried on August 6, 1675, at the church of Our Saviour in Mdina. His second wife was Alzonica Galea from Mosta.
