| Abstract: | On February 19, 2009, the Library of Parliament played an important role during President Barack Obama’s first official visit to Canada. Although the President visited Ottawa for less than eight hours, his schedule permitted him enough time for a special tour of this majestic library. Accompanied by Prime Minister Stephen Harper, President Obama explored its extensive collections, admired its gothic grandeur, and discussed its beauty and importance with the Prime Minister.
