Abstract: To any student of, or indeed, any reader interested in international child abduction, this book provides a wealth of information from both the social and the legal points of view. The introduction gives an excellent delineation of the ground covered by the Convention on International Child Abduction. It explains what in reality amounts to "abduction" and this is especially helpful for a better appreciation of the framework of the Convention itself. Moreover, it also looks at the origins and nature of international child abduction in such a way as to bring out the real nature of the - problem. The introduction also acquaints the reader with the structure and method of the book.
